"During my 18 years of law enforcement experience, I have observed that each individual officer falls into a category. Some are known as being untrustworthy, making other officers hesitant to even be involved in anything those officers are dealing with or investigating. Some are known for being cowardly, causing other officers to be insecure in dangerous situations because they know their backup officer is most likely not going to be there in times of need. Then there are those who make other officers feel a sense of comfort when they are 10-8 (working). These officers are men of integrity, honor, and courage.
Over the years, I have known many officers that fall into a varying degree of these categories. Some are brave, but untrustworthy while others are trustworthy in ethics, but cowardly in times of danger. While having worked in the same areas as Daniel Trivette and being out on traffic stops and other interactions where Daniel was present, I can say Daniel is one who brings it all together, Daniel is one who gave other officers comfort. When Daniel was on shift, there was a sense of comfort because I knew if I called for backup, Daniel was coming no matter what was happening, I also never hesitated to be on scene where Daniel was present because I knew he would not allow any unethical actions to be taken.
This is why my wife (Katina England Huff), and I are supporting Daniel Trivette in his pursuit of White County Sheriff. We want our family and friends to have the same comfort I had when working with Daniel. Our community deserves an honest and courageous Sheriff. One who doesn't waiver in the tough moments, and one we can depend on to ensure the safety of our citizens while upholding his men and women to a higher standard. White County deserves a Sheriff who is forthright with the community about the Office and the conduct of its officers. We believe Daniel Trivette is the one to fulfill these needs and desires."
